Last Project

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOPGhTlkVAw

This is our final movie. To say about our organization, i'm quite satisfied with my group, although we might do it even better. Emese was chosen as a director, as she likes a lot to be leading. I prefer backstage staff, so i first gave the idea, we agreed on that, though later we made lots of changes in it, because of problems with our actor and different ideas raised later on. Julia was our actress. And Katinka rewised our final storyboard at the very end.

So, what were problems we met?
First of all, organization. The main problem is that Emese likes to lead, but she cannot lead properly sometimes. She cannot make people come on time, she didn't separate the work among us. No one actually knew their role in the group. She likes to make everything herself, feels like she doesn't need us.

Another problem was that Julia and Katinka were not available most of the time. So, the main part was made by Emese and me. Though in the editing part Julia helped a lot. We sat with her for almost 6 hours at school editing the whole staff.

Third problem occured when our main male actor could not come for the shooting, because of his personal problems. At the same time, this was the last day we could gather all together (Friday), so the shooting was urgent. Therefore, me, Emese and Julia started looking for an alternative actor first at school then in the streets even. Finally, we found a man on Margit Sziget, where we were planning to shoot our last scenes. And i proposed that we change our story, but not much, just to involve a happy old couple. The reason was that it's harder to find a single man in a park and make him play in our movie, much easier to find an old couple, who are free all the time, and more likely to help us.

Fortunately, everything turned out well, we found a couple after 20 minutes of surfing through Margit. They were Canadian, but spoke good Hungarian as well. So, it was just perfect. We could freely communicate with them, and explain all we needed from them. We took their contact information (and a young man's), and sent our final movie. Hope they like it :)

Overall, even though we met lots of quite difficult problems, we were creative enough to find solutions and work it out.

About working in 4s, i think that's not the best thing i experienced. Much better to work in couples or in a group of 3. There were just too many people, but lack of responsibility inside the group. But the result is not bad at all. ;)

Stern Film Studio

To say honestly, this expedition was way more exciting for me than the one with Andrea, although I'm more interested in Events Management. There we couldn't go to the backstage, we didn't discuss things about organizing this event, but rather about the design of the building and the whole layout.
But here, we could go and see all the important features of the place, both studios (where we could even climb up to the catwalk, that was an experience:)) , then we saw the workshop, the catering, offices, and even make-up rooms. We were able to ask her many important and difficult questions, and she was so nice to answer all of them. I learnt lots of staff from this class, starting with what is the marketing promoter's main responsibilities, and finishing with a saying "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". And we had lots of fun. Thank you, Phil, for this day! :)

A Letter

We all know that Emese was the story writer, Fathir was a cameraman, and i was editing the whole staff, that's the main reason the video clip seems confusing a little bit, as we all had different ideas and view while doing our job.

First difficulty was that we had our computer turned off, we didn't have a charger with us, and we didn't know a password as well.
so we couldn't make it the right way: we were planning to draw in Paint or any other software on the computer, but we couldn't.
So, what we had with us were just sheets of paper, and we decided then to draw on them like if we were drawing on a touch pad.

Then the typing scene is about an apologizing letter from her.

Then comes a scene when she gets up and jumps into another world, i made a mistake here: i should have put some other effects here which would show that this is all happening in her mind and dreams. And that in reality she is just sitting there and writing her letter, that she didn't even stand up.

The flash backs represent her thoughts, her feelings as well as it is to add some contrast in an action, and to make us feel the same way as the main character. We know that when we have huge contrasts we feel things harsher, like here we have this sad and boring scene with the main character typing smth, and drawing; and then we have this dancing girl in a dress, she is not upset or anything, she is just enjoying her life. This makes the first scene appear even sadder, more bitter, her life be more miserable.

And the song... I had a problem with that. First of all, i was not planning to show my version of the video to the class; what i wanted was just to try the new software and see what i can do alone. And with that in mind i've chosen the first song that came to my mind.
i was not thinking a lot about the lyrics, i was rather focusing on beats and melody.

And the last scene.. It's hard to explain, but i'll try. The idea was actually to confuse the audience. First we think that this is a dream when they are dancing, but then the kiss comes in reality. What i was thinking was that when Emese met me in a fantasy world, i started forgiving her little-by-little, i invited her to dance with me, and then at the end it's like if i forgave her everything and excepted her in reality now. :)

But we don't have this thing in lyrics that's why it's quite confusing.
